We are beyond excited to finally share that we’re launching our new residency at E1.
Curating an exhilarating blend of
Afro electronic and global club events.
As we celebrate two amazing years in October of showcasing artists, from live events at Boxpark to
G-Shock London radio livestreams.
Born in Lisbon to an Angolan mother and a Cape Verdean father, DJEFF delivers a modern, African-rooted sound that fuses forward-thinking electronic music with the rich legacy of house.
In 1999, he discovered his passion at Lisbon’s historic Bauhaus club. While friends spent their time on the dancefloor, DJEFF stood by the booth, carefully observing the DJs – a spark that would ignite his journey.
After graduating in Design & Graphic Arts in 2008, he moved to Luanda, Angola, where the city’s vibrant cultural energy inspired his first productions. His debut album Malembe Malembe (2011), co-produced with DJ Silyvi, was released through his own imprint Kazukuta Records – the first electronic-focused record label in Angola, founded to give opportunities to emerging talent.
He followed up with Soldier Ascension, Gratitude and Enlightened Path, which featured remixes from Henrik Schwarz, Shimza and Floyd Lavine. In between, DJEFF released ZUGU ZUGU via Spinnin’ Deep, featuring Zakes Bantwini. The track became a global hit, championed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio One and included in his “Essential Selection.” Over the years, DJEFF’s catalogue has grown with impactful releases on Watergate Records, Deeproot, Klub Records and MoBlack Records, alongside his Kazukuta Records imprint. His upcoming 2026 album continues to push boundaries, weaving his heritage into a forward- looking sound shaping the future of Afro House and Afro Tech.
In 2024, DJEFF also launched Odyssey, his own event series, with two major shows in Lisbon and Luanda marking its debut.
On stage, DJEFF is celebrated for his infectious energy and ability to connect deeply with audiences. His performances have lit up iconic stages including Tomorrowland, Hï Ibiza, Watergate Berlin, Fabric London, KOKO London, Savaya Bali, Skorpios Mykonos, Untold Festival, Exit Festival, Extrema Outdoor, and Black Coffee’s global events – solidifying his reputation as a world-class performer.
